3 Things That All Great Startups Have
http://maplebutter.com/3-things-that-all-great-startups-have/

Steve Job’s said it best:

“People say you need a lot of passion for what you’re doing, and it’s totally true, and the reason is that it’s so hard, that if you don’t, any rational person would give up”

It’s so hard to be successful, and it needs to be sustained over such a long period, that if you don’t love it – you’re going to give up. Any sane person would. That’s why passion for your team, the product and your customers are so important.

Does passion + consistency = success? Let’s try it and see.

WOW!! The Power of CFT’s

On January 24, 2012, in Content Creation, by Richard Pargeter

Today I completed 5 CFT’s, and it feels awesome.
CFT stands for Critical Focus Time and is something I’ve picked up from Ed Dale.
A CFT is time you set aside for content/product creation – in other words real work.
Each CFT lasts for just 25 mins with a 5 minute break in between – I use the timer on my iPhone.
In that 25 minutes you just work, 100% focus on the task in hand.
I’m doing a CFT right now, and I’m just writing… yes I’ll take the time after to edit, check spelling and review but the fact is I’m writing for 25 minutes which equals content on my site.

My CFT’s for today

I’m currently working on an installation guide for an up and coming free minisite template I’m giving away over at QuickSiteStudio.com. My aim is to provide everything you need to get a website up and running for FREE.
Today I completed the bulk of the guide which currently stands at 38 pages with over 7000 words written. The next task at hand will be to create all the illustrations and maybe some videos too.

Do you use any techniques to boost your productivity?

If you can look past the misinformation, and think about this new opportunity with an open mind, I think you’ll be as excited about it as I am. I am publishing all my future books using this platform.

Man, I’m so excited about iBooks Author. The possibilities of providing tutorials for clients is amazing and to distribute them in the iBooks store… Well what can I say!
